Agri@Head, the first-ever agricultural exhibition on the Internet, is scheduled to make its debut worldwide for a period of three months starting on July 15 and closing its gates on October 15. The London-based entrepreneurs who initiated the Internet agricultural exhibition said they expect that 150 companies from all over the world will participate in the fair, exhibiting the main aspects in agriculture: irrigation, mechanisation technologies, cultivation technologies, fertilisers, chemicals and insecticides, greenhouse cultivation, R&D, packaging, organic agriculture, seeds, and gardening.

The organisers of the exhibition, AHead™ Business Solutions Ltd division of Virtual Trade Shows & Exhibitions, maintain that nearly half a million people from all over the world, mainly agricultural professionals, will "visit" the exhibition, which will be open 24 hours a day seven days a week. "Visitors will be able to receive on-line information from any exhibitor", according to Daniel Vishniya, who initiated the idea of the virtual Internet agricultural exhibition.

He added that the exhibition was planned to look like a "conventional" agricultural fair, enabling each exhibitor to present his products and carry out a discussion with visitors using special communication software that was developed for this exhibition, "which will also enable visitors to 'participate' in conferences, seminars and discussions to be held during the exhibition."

The organisers of the Internet Agricultural Exhibition maintain that since 9/11, there has been a drastic drop in the number of visitors to international exhibitions, which in many cases resulted in the failure of the exhibition. "Presenting everything agricultural under one roof, saving travel expenses and eliminating away-from-work problems, were our considerations in deciding to launch the first Internet Agricultural Exhibition," Vishniya said.
