The Low Pay Commission (LPC) is reviewing the accommodation offset and is consulting to obtain views from employers.
The consultation is part of a review the commission has been asked to complete by government this year. The offset is set at a daily limit of £4.73 and its designed to act as a protective measure to discourage employers from levying excessive accommodation charges and from withdrawing the provision of accommodation.
The commission would also like to hear from workers to gain an understanding from both sides as to the effectiveness of the offset. The deadline for responses to the LPC is 10 September.
