Waitrose has reported an uplift in sales of some major vegetable lines as the autumn weather struck.
For the week ended 3 November, the upmarket retailer reported that broccoli sales rose 42 per cent year on year, sweetcorn by 30 per cent and carrots by 23 per cent.
Brussels sprout sales have also been encouraging and are up by a quarter year on year.
