Utopia cherries get PushPop treatment

Utopia UK Ltd has launched new-season cherries in Waitrose in Amcor’s innovative PushPop pack.

Lawrence Andrew, packaging manager at Utopia, said: “We chose Amcor PushPop because it met all of our criteria - it is a pack that stands out from the crowd in terms of product branding, and it is easy to open, has a wide opening and reduces our overall pack weight.”

Customers can just push in the special perforation on the top of the Amcor Pushpop pack, pop the pack open, and enjoy the Waitrose cherries.

“As Utopia has demonstrated, the stackable and stand-up Amcor PushPop offers excellent on-shelf product differentiation as the entire surface can be printed, including the top and the bottom of the pack,” said Amcor.

The Amcor PushPop is ideal for a wide range of fresh produce, including single-use fresh produce, or it can be used to replace trays and punnets, providing a pack weight reduction. Food waste is also reduced through the application of Amcor’s modified atmosphere technology, P-Plus.
