Krisp-Pak Co, the Norfolk, US, firm that was forced to recall all cut melon and grapes from the market late last week, resumed cutting and distributing fruit on Wednesday.
The resumption was sanctioned after laboratory results showed the products were free of listeria monocytogenes, said Paul Battaglia, Krisp-Pak president.
The processor of fresh fruit and vegetables had recalled all cut melon and grapes on the market after a Newport News military commissary found that a 1lb package was contaminated.
The company sent samples of its fruit, along with swabs from several surfaces in its plant, for its own tests, which provided the all clear.
