The study was carried out by Opinion Research Corporation and found that vegetables were purchased either through retailers or at farm stands.

The use of fresh vegetables far outweighs other choices such as frozen or pre-packed vegetables and canned vegetables at 21 and 18 per cent respectively.

The survey also shed light on some interesting preferences among US consumers. It found that 41 per cent would prefer to use vegetables grown in their own garden although only 10 per cent actually do so, and only eight per cent preferred frozen vegetables and five per cent preferred canned over other options.
