Univeg has signed new separate co-operation agreements with agribusiness companies Bayer CropScience and Syngenta.

The aim of the agreements is to develop and implement a number of supply chain projects and sustainable concepts for UNIVEG’s retail customers.

For Francis Kint, CEO of Univeg’s fresh produce business, said the individual agreements mark a significant step forward in the firm’s sustainability strategy.

"Developing a closer co-operation with Bayer CropScience and Syngenta can help us to provide suppliers with access to technical resources and support, to improve quality, yields and food safety and to develop more sustainable supply chain concepts for Univeg’s retail customers,” Kint said.

“Whilst Bayer CropScience and Syngenta have individual strengths and expertise, both companies share a common vision of the future challenges the fruit and vegetable sector will have to meet.”
