The UK Fresh Produce Network (UKFPN) hosted its first Festival of Agriculture event last week, designed to celebrate and showcase advancements in agri- tech, transport, and logistics.

Taking place on 17 October, the Lincolnshire-based network held the event to bring together over 200 guests and industry leaders, including local universities and community members, to highlight the vital role agriculture plays in the region and beyond.

The festival featured over 70 businesses that showcased their services and products in a dedicated expo room, allowing guests to discover the latest in agricultural advancements.

Meanwhile, members from both Lincoln and Nottingham University offered Boston Grammar School students a glimpse into future career paths within the agriculture sector.

Additionally, the event saw a range of speakers covering topics from cutting-edge robotics to forward-thinking educational opportunities.

In a special initiative, Dr Dinal Taleyratne and his team from the local hospital’s cardiology department also offered free CPR training to attendees, reinforcing the festival’s commitment not only to agricultural growth but also to the wellbeing of the community.

Head of UKFPN, Tammy Dawson-Doughty, said: “It was an amazing day. Bringing together the brightest minds in agriculture and inspiring the next generation is what this festival is all about.

“It’s not just about planting seeds in the ground; it’s about planting ideas in minds and watching them grow into a brighter future for our region.”
