The loud thud you heard on your doormat this morning as FPJ dropped through the letterbox can only mean one thing - another Fruit Logistica has rolled around quicker than you can say “zwei Bier, bitte”.

We have managed to put together another bumper issue, and I hope you enjoy reading through it over the next week - or three.

This year, more UK exhibitors than ever before are setting up stall at the exhibition - testament to the way that Fruit Logistica has managed to capture the hearts and minds of the UK industry in a way unparalleled by any other international trade fair. I am sure many more of you will be tramping the numerous halls as visitors, taking the chance to meet your international suppliers and clients under one enormous roof.

Last year, Fruit Logistica was dominated by talk of global recession. However, with the news this week that the UK has officially limped its way out of the economic mire - lagging far behind many of our European neighbours, it must be noted - it will be interesting to see how the industry reacts. Sights must be firmly set on life post-recession, as international trading could be a very different beast in the wake of the financial crisis. I am sure we will find out in Berlin exactly how the global fresh produce business is tackling those changes head on.

We look forward to welcoming those of you making the annual pilgrimage to Germany next week on our stand at the show. Let’s just hope it doesn’t snow again...
