A leading European packaging is launching a UK sales operation to target the food industry.

Plus Pack AS, founded in Denmark 42 years ago, is now a pan-European business with operations in seven countries. It has invested heavily in thermoforming machinery and plans to double its production capacity over the next few years to support its expansion.

Shawn Roberts, an 18-year veteran of the UK plastic packaging industry, has been appointed to spearhead the companies UK operations.

He said: “Under our Irresistible Packaging banner, we will be introducing a number of exciting new plastic packaging products into the UK in 2006, all aimed at the food industry.

“We offer a wide range of standard products as well as customised packaging, and work closely with customers developing innovative packaging solutions to meet the rapidly changing needs of consumers.”

Plus Pack said its product range will be targeted at food manufacturers and the retail and wholesale sectors, including producers of frozen and chilled ready meals, food packers of fruits, vegetables and nuts, and poultry producers.
