UK business buoys ND performance

Annual revenue for 2011 was up by 26 per cent at logistics group Norbert Dentressangle (ND) with an increase in organic growth of 5.6 per cent.

In 2011 total revenue climbed to €3.576 billion compared to €2.839bn in 2010 - up 26 per cent or 5.6 per cent at a like-for-like exchange rate and consolidation basis.

CEO François Bertreau, said: “ND maintained a healthy rate of growth throughout the year and posted a sharply higher 2011 consolidated revenue of €3.6bn. Acquisitions in 2011 (TDG and APC Beijing International) have bolstered our group’s international profile and put us in very good standing in the freight forwarding market. Despite this solid performance, we have remained watchful of changes taking place in our customers’ business, which at the end of the year showed signs of slowing.”

Strong growth in the UK made an important contribution to the logistics segment of the ND business which posted a 28.9 per cent increase in revenue in 2011 (3.9 per cent on a like-for-like exchange rate and consolidation basis). The freight-forwarding division grew rapidly while the transport segment consolidated it market position.
