Tesco has announced two of its larger stores will stop trading 24 hours a day in a localised decision to cut costs.
The retailer said the move does not signal that other 24-hour stores will also reduce trading hours despite media speculation and reports to the contrary. It wouldn’t name the two stores as employees are still being informed.
A spokesperson told FPJ: “24-hour opening is important for many of our customers and we are not considering ending it.
“We’re always thinking about how to best serve customers in each of our stores. Where there is a case to look at the opening hours of a store, we will do so, but any decisions will be made locally and our colleagues will be the first to know.”
