The Anglia Farmers buying group has announced a sizeable increase in turnover for the year.

The collective group said that turnover for the year ending January 31 2007 was up 23% to £72.2 million. The net surplus for the year, to be retained in reserves, was a little over £82,400, a 64 percent increase, while net assets stood at just over £1 million, itself a 10 percent rise.

Negotiating prices for other agricultural buying groups boosted Anglia Farmers’ buying power to more than £100 million in 2006.
