The only international fresh produce exhibition in Turkey is to be held for a second time in March.
FreshAntalya 2008, which is billed as a trade exhibition for fruit, vegetables, logistics and technologies, will be held in the Antalya Expo Centre on March 27-29.
Some 5,400 visitors attended last year, from a wide range of countries.
The event will allow national and international commission agents, importers and purchasing groups to meet producers and exporters.
The geographical location, ecological composition, production conditions and dynamic structure in Turkey provide the fruit and vegetable sector with ample opportunities in terms of production and export.
The production of fresh fruit and vegetables exceeds 43 million tonnes, with vegetables accounting for 30mt, and fruit making up 12mt.
FreshAntalya 2008 is fully supported by the sector.
İts consulting board includes the undersecretariat of the prime ministry for foreign trade, all fresh fruit and vegetable exporters’ unions in the country, the secretariat general of the Exporters’ Union of Antalya, the ministry of agriculture, the Federation of Fruit and Vegetable Commision Agents, the Association of the Mediterranean Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Enterprises, and the Greenhouse Vegetable Producers’ Union of Central Antalya.
