Freshtime UK has enlarged its in-house team with two new appointments.

Kelly Tuplin and Michaela Watson have both moved to Freshtime from Cucina Sano near Boston in Lincolnshire (part of Bakkavor).

As a new product development (NPD) technologist, Tuplin will be developing new recipes and packaging innovation and reviewing product nutrition.

“I’m really enjoying the diversity that my new role has to offer,” she said. “I have a hands-on role working across many different departments so I’m learning lots about the business.”

Tuplin studied food manufacturing at the University of Lincoln, and went on to work as a senior specification technologist at Cucino Sano for six years.

“I worked very closely with the NPD technology team when I was at Bakkavor and became quite interested in that area of work,” she added.

“My new role at Freshtime is slightly different to my previous role, but it’s a great opportunity for me to gain more retail experience and work with a variety of clients.”

Watson has taken on the role of quality assurance compliance manager at Freshtime. She handles legal and product safety, audits risk assessments and deals with customer complaints.

Watson has over 10 years of experience working in the food manufacturing industry. Before moving to Freshtime she worked for Bakkavor, Lincolnshire Field Products and Home Farm Produce.

“I got my first taste of Freshtime when I worked weekends in the factory when I was younger,” she said.

“It’s great to be back and part of a business that is expanding, as it offers room for growth within my career.”

Freshtime, based in Boston, Lincolnshire, was created in 1993 by farmer co-operative ELGRO (East Lincolnshire Growers).
