Unique opportunity is just one part of wide-ranging Festival of Fresh offer
Visitors to Festival of Fresh 2024 are being given the opportunity to tour the recently expanded Evesham depot of event host Nationwide Produce.
Delegates can sign up for one of several tours running throughout the day. Organisers the Fresh Produce Journal will send out a separate booking form to all registered delegates, allowing them to secure their spot ahead of the event.
Spaces are limited and will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
The 38,000 sq ft facility houses nearly 300 different lines of fresh produce, from exotic fruits to root crops to salads. It is a one-stop shop for Nationwide’s foodservice, catering, and wholesale customers.
A £3.5 million investment in 2022 expanded the site. This added five temperature-controlled chambers, installed advanced racking technology, and increased pallet capacity to 1,600.
The company’s flexible ordering system, managed by dedicated account managers, allows customers to order an unlimited number of product lines on mixed pallets for delivery throughout the UK and Ireland. This flexibility allows customers to trial new products, brands, and ranges alongside their regular orders.
The warehouse tour provides an in-depth look at the depot. Visitors explore Nationwide’s extensive range, learn about the logistics behind its growing wholesale business, and come to understand the critical role of transportation in the company operations.
The tour also covers Nationwide’s procurement processes and highlights the importance of strong partnerships in maintaining a consistent supply chain.
Additionally, guests get an insight into the company’s rich history as it approaches its 50th anniversary next year.
