Total Produce has found that its range of local grower fact sheets has become very popular with its customers of the five wholesale branches they have been trialled in. The fact sheet provides background information on growers, explaining what they supply to Total Produce, and how long they have worked with the company through Redbridge.

Total Produce’s marketing executive Joanna Lutkin told FPJ: “We do try to source produce from as many local growers as we can. We provide a global supply base, but we are very aware of sustainability, and food miles.

“We started supplying our branches with the fact sheets a year ago, when Total Produce took over Redbridge’s branches, starting with Hereford. Now other branches are realising that it is popular, and want to introduce them.”

According to Lutkin, the Total Produce stand received a lot of attention at the Food & Drink Expo. “Our main objective here is to establish Total Produce as a brand, after the acquisition of 10 new branches from Redbridge and Bristol Fruit Sales last year,” she said. “This year, we are going to concentrate on re-branding the fleet, and making the Total Produce name as recognisable as Redbridge.”
