Jules Carey, manager of MDS, the independent training organisation for the fresh produce industry, has won top prize for completing a training course of her own.
She was awarded the prize for her performance in the Industry of Grocery and Distribution’s post-graduate Certificate in Food and Grocery Industry Management.
Carey said the course had greatly increased her knowledge and understanding of the industry, as well as widening her network of contacts which is already improving her day-to-day job.
She was promoted to manager part way through the course.
“It was a challenge at times, juggling my studies with my new role,” she said. “But I had tremendous support from the MDS team and all our member companies, which made things a bit easier.”
Carey’s trophy will take pride of place in MDS’ new office in Thornhaugh, near Peterborough.
