Top carrots at Tesco

Tesco will have English bunched carrots on its shelves this Sunday and along with supplier Albert Bartlett & Sons, the retailer hopes to increase volumes of home-grown product sold through its stores by 50 per cent, year-on-year.

The carrots have been picked on Bartlett’s Norfolk farms. The company’s managing director, Alan Bartlett, said: “We feel that English carrots have been underperforming in the last few years and we will be getting behind the product with in-store promotions.

"The skin finish and the tops look very good, so we have some excellent quality to work with. Tesco is committed to supporting the English crop and we are confident of a much better season.”
