Tomato expert Polly Tyrer took over the basement kitchen at John Lewis’ flagship store in London’s Oxford Street to demonstrate various recipes from Simply Tomatoes, her book co-written with the TGA.
Copies of the book were handed out to consumers and all the organic British tomatoes used were supplied by Waitrose.
Steve Cooper, head of the kitchen department, said the company is pleased to offer its services for such a worthy cause: “It is not about sales but providing entertainment, enjoyment and education.”
