Jonathan Tole is joining Lincolnshire onion supplier The Allium Alliance as commercial director.
The former chair of British Onions takes up his new position at the Spalding-based business, which grows and imports onions and shallots.
Tole has been running his own consultancy business for the past year, as well as running the Soil-for-Life project, a cloud-based toolkit which is designed to help farmers and agronomists improve profitability and reduce environmental impact.
Prior to that the Wye College graduate worked in a number of account management, operational and IT roles at Produce World, having started his career at G's marketing as a management trainee running harvesting rigs and packing lines in the UK and Spain.
Allium Alliance managing director Malcolm Gray said: 'Jonathan will be joining us as commercial director, where many years of working with onions, other alliums and vegetables will undoubtedly add experience to the team along with the specialist service we offer to our customers, growers and partners.'
