The Timber Packaging and Pallet Confederation (TIMCON) has launched a dedicated training programme to bolster the knowledge and skills of its employees.

TIMCON has launched the modular programme to provide comprehensive information and learning tools for packaging and pallet operatives.

Available to download, the programme is easily accessible and can be conveniently taught on site by a designated member of staff. Made up for 25 modules, it covers a range of industry aspects, including health and safety, legislation compliance and material knowledge. On completion of the course, the employee and the company receive certification, including the quality TIMCON training mark.

John Dye, president of TIMCON said: “Our training programme provides an excellent resource to enhance knowledge, add credibility and most importantly to progression and passion for our industry. We are urging our membership to take advantage of this free service.”

The comprehensive programme enables participants to maintain their health and safety requirements as it develops knowledge of safe working practices. TIMCON hopes that the scheme will help its members to be aware of ongoing industry issues. The company stands firm with the message that wood is still the clear preferred material of choice for the pallet and packaging industry.

Dye added: “It is crucial that the repairable, recyclable and reusable qualities of wood are recognised, understood and delivered.”
