Tighten your real-time control

Helveta assists businesses access and analyse real-time data from physical assets anywhere in the world.

Its Control Intelligence System (CIS) diagnoses storage variables from control systems in real time to predict adverse changes in key factors such as product humidity and temperature. CIS gives advance notification of critical changes in crop status allowing store managers to make an intervention before critical loss or damage occurs.

This analysis is delivered to management users through a web-based Syndrome Recognition console that delivers leading performance indicators for all assets, controllers and sensors under their management. The technology enables companies to turn everyday data into a core business intelligence tool, helping to lower costs, reduce risks, raise performance and increase enterprise value.

CIS has been developed with Omnivent, a manufacturer and installer of advance ventilation and climate regulations systems for various agricultural sectors.

The system has been piloted successfully at Helveta’s experimental storage monitoring facility in the Netherlands. The pilot has been running over an entire storage cycle for potatoes monitoring an extensive range o storage parameters.

Luuk Salomons, managing director of Omnivent, says: “The final quality of produce is what determines whether or not farmers get a good return for their storage investment. Therefore they are highly focused on operating their storage facilities at the highest possible efficiency.

“The Helveta solution adds value to the Omnivent system, remotely monitoring, detecting and alerting the storage manager to problems before they occur. Damage is prevented, and the quality of stored products such as potatoes is improve.”

Patrick Newton, ceo at Helveta, adds: “The Helveta solution enables Omnivent to provide visibility of storage performance from any location in the world across the internet. Helveta’s Storage Syndrome Recognition System can significantly decrease storage problems and disease rise as well as increase the quality of product delivered. This is a major issue for retail food processors who require a year-round delivery of high quality, stored potatoes. It’s a win:win for growers, packers and retailers.”
