Dutch produce marketer The Greenery bv has demonstrated a change in fortune, announcing post-tax profits of 4.1 million euros in 2001.
This is a remarkable turnaround for the company, which has picked itself up after a terrible millennial year in which it lost 2.6m euros.
The improvement is due to a rise in growers' rates and better co-operation between the various divisions of the company.
But The Greenery says the progress is only a beginning. The company is planning to further develop a more modern logistical infrastructure and further optimise its commercial activities.
