Tesco unveils kids' prepared range

Bakkavör has launched three new prepared fruit products in Tesco this week. Each product is branded with a character from Disney’s Toy Story and is aimed at children.

The 80g pots contain melon and grape, pineapple and melon and the third pot in the range contains pineapple chunks on their own.

Kelly Hill, Bakkavör’s Tesco marketing executive, said: “We felt there was a gap in Tesco for prepared fruit specifically for children. Tesco already has a lot of Disney branding on its products for kids and thought it would be right for these lines to be Disney-branded too. We are hoping they will be perfect for lunchboxes and eating on the go. Anything that helps children eat more fresh produce is good for them, good for parents and good for all of us.”

The products, in 500 stores, retail at 58p a pot.
