A new talking scanner will enable blind and partially sighted shoppers to know what potentially allergy-inducing ingredients are in their food.
The speaking barcode scanner, which has been dubbed Tele-Eye by its developers at the universities of Strathclyde and Dundee, is initially being trialed at a local Spar supermarket, but inventors are also reportedly in talks with Tesco about the device.
