Supermarket brings range of salad ingredients and toppers into one fixture
A major TikTok healthy eating trend has helped inspire the launch of a Salad Creations Bay at Tesco.
With increasing numbers of TikTok users posting photos of their salad creations, the supermarket said it wanted to inspire customers to create their personalised salads by making it easier to find all the ingredients in one place.
As a result, from this week consumers will be able to find a new fixture in the produce aisle enabling them to do that. The bay will be divided in three sections allowing shoppers to select a base such as a lettuce and peashoot salad bag, a builder such as avocado, and a topper such as dressing or sweetcorn salsa to make their perfect salad.
Ingredients to choose from include:
- Base: Lettuce And Peashoot Summer Salad; Sweetheart Lettuce
- Builder: Smokey Shred Beetroot; Extra Large Avocado; Grated Carrot; and Spring Onions
- Topper: Pickled Cucumber Kimchi; Sriracha Honey Dressing; Coconut Chilli and Lime Dressing; Pickled Pink Slaw; Chopped Miso, Orange and Ginger Dressing.
Tesco produce buying manager Emily Hampson said: “Salads don’t have to be boring! They can be tasty, filling and suitable for many meal occasions. More exciting salads appear to be a foodie focus now, with increasingly imaginative creations with a varied range of inclusions appearing on TikTok and Instagram.
“Through our Salad Creations Bay we want to inspire customers to make their own best-ever salads at home.”
Other salad items to choose from include Zingy Corn Salsa; Chopped Maple Orange and Wholegrain Mustard Dressing; Caesar Dressing; Red Pepper Dressing; Chopped Avocado and Cucumber Dressing; Pepper and Salt Croutons; and Garlic and Herb Croutons.
As an introductory offer, Tesco Clubcard holders can buy four salad items for the price of three on the new bay.
