Tesco announces £70 million price cuts

Tesco has announced a £70 million package of price cuts, slashing the price of more than 600 products by an average of eight per cent.

The price cuts represent an attempt to lure cash-strapped shoppers. Tesco marketing director Tim Mason, said: “Many of us spend too much over the Christmas period. By lowering our prices as customers do their first shop of the year we are doing our bit to help.”
