Taypack Potatoes has achieved the highest possible of BRC Global Food accreditation for the fourth year running. Grade A was awarded to the company following their annual assessment by Scottish Food Quality Certification Ltd (SFQC).
In order to obtain the BRC standard food processors must submit to stringent scheme regulations, which involve a thorough on-site audit of the company’s production, processing and manufacturing systems. Such an inspection regime ensures that hygiene standards are consistent and displays the participating company’s confidence and dedication to product safety.
Following the fourth update of the BRC Global Standard for food, Taypack Potatoes installed a new microbiological testing procedure on all their finished product belts and a procedure for borehole water testing.
A handheld system, known as a BioTrace Unilite Junior, was purchased to complete clean trace and aqua trace scans that produce results for HACCP programmes within less than minute. Attention to such detail by Taypack ensures that they remain at the peak of the hygiene chain.
