Syngenta Seeds Vegetables gathered its grower customers together at a working breakfast in El Ejido, Almería, earlier this month to present its latest offer of new tomato, melon and capsicum seeds for the commercial market.

Myla is a new on-the-vine variety for production in short cycles. According to Syngenta, one of the strengths of this type is that fruits are very uniform in size along the length of the vine, and it is suitable for transplanting between January and August, depending on the production area.

Another highlight of the Syngenta offer for the Spanish production base is classic round type Daylos. The fruit of this vigorous variety is very red when ready for harvest. It also has a pronounced rounded shape. It is well suited to the export market, as it has good shelf life, large sizing, stores well and is firm.

In addition to these three types, Syngenta was also presenting Jawara, a standard classic round type, which is also a strong red colour when ripe.
