Sun World has expanded the production base for its proprietary varieties with the appointment of additional licence-holders in Spain and Brazil.

Tanynature SA in Badajoz has been granted a licence for stonefruit and Moyca in Murcia has been granted a licence for grapes. Meanwhile, in Brazil a five-member co-op Coana, in Petrolina, has been granted a licence for grapes.

“Spain is an essential supply platform for Europe and these new appointments will boost the production capacity as well as the accessibility to our varieties by key retailers and distributors throughout Europe including the United Kingdom,” said Johan Jooste, Sun World vice president.

The licensed grapes feature red, white and black seedless types including Midnight Beauty, Scarlotta Seedless, Sable Seedless and Sophia Seedless. The licensed stonefruit includes plums Black Diamond, Black Giant and Red Giant and apricots sold under the Honeycot brand, Amber Crest peaches and Super Star nectarines.
