Caroline Quinlan, administrator of the group said: 'It is a good time to visit one of the London markets, especially one that is highlighted in the market review. It is also a valuable opportunity for the group to get a feel for the market and see the ways in which UK produce is being sold. MPs want to get out of Westminster and see the realities of the industry and this is great opportunity to gain an awareness of what's involved – we've had a very good turnout.' Chairman of the Marden Fruit Show, Robert Mitchell added: 'We have got an active interest in the future of the London markets, and we need to grasp the mettle of change and make it work. There are so many great opportunities.' Pictured l to r are: Baroness Byford, Daniel Caspi chairman of the City of London markets' committee and Lord Mayhew chair of the PBFIG.
