The speakers have been announced for the third EMRC AgriBusiness Forum set to take place in Africa for the first time in June.

Hosted twice by the Food & Agriculture Organisation in Rome, the event will take place in Cape Town, South Africa under the banner ‘Empowering the Private Sector to Boost Productivity & Growth in Africa’.

High-profile speakers include Ephraim Inoni, the prime minister of Cameroon, José Briosa e Gala, adviser for Africa to the president of the European Commission, Namanga Ngongi, president of AGRA in Kenya and Monty Jones, executive secretary of the Ghana-based Forum for Agricultural Research in Africa.

Oscar Chemerinsky, director of Agribusiness at the International Finance Corporation in the US, Ajay Vashee, president of the International Federation of Agricultural Producers (IFAP) in Zambia and Corwyn Botha, the chairman of Agricultural Business Chamber and managing director of Kaap Agri, South Africa, will also address the conference.

Attendees will include farmers, businessmen, government officials, academics and NGOs, as well as those looking for viable business opportunities in Africa’s growing agro-food sector and those who wish to collaborate on such projects.

The event takes place at the Lord Charles Hotel in Cape Town on June 14-17.
