Spanish growers and exporters are calling for the inclusion of plant health controls in the EU’s association agreement with Morocco. This follows the discovery of residues of procymidone in excess of MRLs on a consignment of Moroccan tomatoes in Sweden last week. “We are calling for the inclusion of plant health controls in agreements with third countries with the aim that fruit and vegetable imports are in line with EU norms,” Juan Marín Bravo, president of Murcia producer-exporters’ association Proexport said.
