Authorities in the Huelva area of south-west Spain have said that the raspberry season will continue for a month longer than usual.
The announcement came as grower representatives and regional immigration committee officials met last week to discuss labour needs. Producers expect their season will continue for a month longer than usual because of inclement weather in February and March and its effects on plants.
The harvest is already well under way and has been boosted by some warmer temperatures over the last 10 days.
