A potential blockade of ports in Spain is on the cards, as Spanish fishermen add their voices to the European-wide protests about rising fuel prices.
Thousands of Spanish fishermen have staged demonstrations, accordng to the BBC website, and several thousand are expected to march on Madrid’s ministry of agriculture to hand out fresh fish to the public in a bid to raise awareness of the problem.
Spanish trade unions say they could also blockade ports, in a move similar to the French protests that have been ongoing for the past week.
French police yesterday used force to remove fishermen who were blockading oil depots.
