Supermarket chain Somerfield has been awarded a gold medal at the Chelsea Flower Show for its Eat-5-a-Day garden created with Bournemouth Borough Council.
The garden included a beautiful display of bedding plants with a seaside theme and featured topiary dolphins and a sand sculpture. It was crowned with a colourful display of fresh fruit and vegetables cleverly incorporating the 5-a-day logo on all sides. All the fruit and vegetables were donated by Somerfield suppliers.
The garden was awarded the Royal Horticulture Society's President's Award for best exhibit as well as a Gold Medal for the best and most innovative garden in the Great Pavilion.
