It is using the on-farm crop management services of Farmacy, an independent agronomy company, to complement the work of its own technical managers.

The area of agronomy and technical services will be co-ordinated by former technical director David Hudson.

'Sound agronomy is fundamental to producing crops that satisfy consumer needs,' said supply chain director Jason Burgess. 'Growers have responded to more discerning markets by becoming increasingly professional. Our aim is to put in place flexible agronomy packages that will support their production in field and store.'
