The Italian Institute for Agricultural Market Studies, Research and Information (I.S.M.E.A.) is launching a campaign to promote the sale of citrus fruits from Sicily.
Federica D´Aprile from the Institute’s marketing department, made the announcement at Fruit Logistica in Berlin last week.
He said the yellow and orange fruits from Sicily have not yet realised their full potential, but that is all about to change.
“The oranges are very sweet, full of vitamins and scored very well in tests”, D´Aprile said.
I.S.M.E.A. is linked with the Italian Ministry of Agriculture and, acting on the ministry’s behalf, draws up price standards as well as arranging agricultural insurance and the irrigation of agricultural land.
