SGS UK announced it has gained accreditation to issue ISO 22000 certification by the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS).
Pauline Earl, UK business manager responsible for UK certification operations at SGS said: “Being able to issue accredited certificates for ISO 22000 will be of particular interest to food companies who are increasingly being asked to meet the new food safety standard.”
The accreditation delivers a considerable advantage to food companies looking to reinforce their own competencies in the market place, Earl added.
Food companies that receive ISO 22000 certification from SGS will also be entitled to display UKAS accreditation.
According to Earl SGS can now offer certification to a broad range of food companies, including food products and beverages, catering activities, food packaging and food processing equipment.
