Logistics provider Fresh Service organised a customer day at Glasgow Market on October 16 for its customers to cement existing relationships, make new contacts and rediscover old friendships.

“We have put a lot of effort into making early deliveries to Scotland from Kent,” said Fresh Service’s Brian Porter, who accompanied his visitors on the flight up to Glasgow for the occasion. “We felt our service is really good, and we want to encourage our customers to do more business up there.”

And the initiative is paying dividends already, barely a week since the visit.

“We have already seen an increase in business, not just from customers finding new buyers, but some old wounds were repaired on the day,” said Porter.

The market laid on a small reception and an escorted tour for the visitors to meet wholesalers. Fresh Service is already planning a similar visit to Gateshead market.

“We believe in bringing our customers together with buyers to help both parties try and achieve what they want to, and then improve on that with what we offer in terms of logistics,” added Porter.
