One of Tesco’s senior fresh produce figures has made an internal switch.
David Croxson has moved from his position as senior buyer for fresh produce to senior operations manager - fresh foods at the UK’s largest supermarket.
He is succeeded in the role by Matt Ward, now senior buying manager for fruit, who was previously Tesco’s yoghurt buyer.
Croxson is an experienced Tesco figure and well thought of within the business, according to a source.
He has considerable experience in project management previously working in the fresh produce department, then on the Tesco Express format before returning to replace Tesco veteran Martin de la Fuente as senior buying manager for top fruit and ambient fruit in June 2008.
