Keeping notifiable diseases like ring rot out of Britain and the challenges posed to the GB potato industry by changing consumer behaviour are just two topics being discussed at next month’s Seed Industry Event, organised by the British Potato Council (BPC).

Held over two days (November 11 and 12) at the Crieff Hydro, Crieff the event will tackle wide-ranging issues that concern Britain’s seed potato supply chain. Everyone connected with seed potato production is encouraged to attend.

BPC seed and export supply chain manager, Iain Dykes, said Britain’s reputation for supplying top-quality, healthy seed both at home and abroad continues to develop and further opportunities exist provided the industry continues its high standards.

“We must do our utmost to maintain GB status as the producer of the highest quality seed available,” he said.

“The event topics and speakers will further provide growers and supply chain companies with the detail to help make informed decisions when considering further investment and new potential markets.”

The Seed Industry Event will host a trade fair and a traditional evening dinner will provide further opportunities for delegates to meet up with existing and new contacts.
