Professor Howard Davies, research theme co-ordinator and leader of the Product Innovation Centre for potatoes at the Scottish Crop Research Institute has been awarded a docentship in Plant biotechnology at the University of Kuopio, Finland.
The docentship is a special academic position in Finnish, German and Swedish universities, and will involve Professor Davies mentoring PhD students and delivering specialist lectures in plant science.
Professor Davies foresees that his docentship will provide the basis for further cooperation in research between the two organisations.
