Scotty Brand has teamed up with Disney UK & Ireland on a joint promotional campaign for the launch of Disney Pixar’s Brave movie.
The film is set in Scotland and will be screened in UK cinemas in August. Albert Bartlett subsidiary Scotty Brand will run the campaign which has been developed with marketing agencies Billington Cartmell and Disneymedia+ featuring TV advertising and on-pack promotions to win Brave-inspired prizes including Scottish adventure holidays. Packs will be available in store from June.
Scotty Brand marketing manager Michael Jarvis said: “Brave is an adventure set in the mystical Scottish Highlands, which is an excellent fit with Scotty Brand’s family values and heritage. The initiative encapsulates the trust consumers have in both brands and provides a strong platform to demonstrate the values at the heart of Scotty Brand. That is to provide excellent quality, healthy food, grown in Scotland in sympathy with nature.”
In Scotland, Scotty Brand potatoes, carrots and prepared vegetables are on sale in Asda, while Morrisons offers branded potatoes and carrots, Tesco and the Co-op market Scotty potatoes. Jarvis reports that sales through all outlets are increasing. Asda recently expanded its distribution of potatoes to England and Wales and will be selling Scotty Brand strawberries and raspberries nationwide in 320 of its stores. Further distribution through the multiples UK-wide is expected in the near future for Ayrshire new potatoes and a range of other lines produced in Scotland.
Jarvis said: “We had great success with Scotty Brand new potatoes, raspberries and strawberries last summer and are set for the same this year. We are looking forward to expanding our portfolio into other areas. Demand for Scottish produce is on the rise - people care about the provenance of their food and Scotland is seen as a guarantee of quality across a large number of categories. The Scotty Brand range offers consumers this assurance of quality combined with good value.”
