Industry organisation Scotland Food & Drink has enhanced its online information hub to create a wealth of information about the organisation, its priorities and its members’ benefits package.

Since its launch in 2003, the website - www.scotlandfoodanddrink.org - has been a valuable resource for the industry’s information needs, providing access to key resources to support company growth in areas such as sales and marketing, logistics, skills development, hygiene, safety and compliance.

Paul McLaughlin, chief executive of Scotland Food & Drink, said: “Our information hub has established itself as one of the top search results for Scottish food and drink companies seeking industry intelligence. Building on this, the new enhancements give us, as an organisation, a strong online presence, as well as keeping the industry informed.

“But the work doesn’t stop here. Over the coming months, we will be introducing further developments such as improved navigation so our users can identify relevant information quickly, new content areas, and a members’ only area where we can deliver the type of value-added information required to grow our industry.

“Ultimately, the ambition is for our hub to become recognised as the expert voice of the industry, providing rapid access to the latest market and consumer trend information, analysing the data and turning it into practical action.

“The idea is to make information easily accessible for the whole industry, so there is one point of access to find the right information at the right time and to help our companies act on it."

The website has a news and events service, as well as a buyers’ guide promoting Scottish suppliers and products. These services, which are managed and funded by Scottish Enterprise and Highlands and Islands Enterprise, will continue to be available via the enhanced hub.

The site currently attracts an average of 23,000 unique visitors per month.
