Following the success of Scottish Food & Drink Fortnight 2009, it been has announced the culinary celebration will take place again from September 4-19, 2010.

Scottish Food & Drink Fortnight will continue to highlight the healthy, locally sourced food and drink available throughout the country.

The 2010 celebration aims to be the biggest yet, with a host of chefs, schools and businesses already enthusiastic about getting involved. Events will be held the length and breadth of the country to showcase Scotland’s diverse produce.

Paul McLaughlin, chief executive of organisers Scotland Food & Drink, said: “It is essential that we build on the success of Scottish Food & Drink Fortnight to cement the event’s aims in the minds of Scots. The quality of our produce must be celebrated to fuel our bid to build Scotland’s international reputation as ‘A Land of Food & Drink’.

“The Scottish food and drink sector is worth billions and we should support local businesses to sustain the economy, reduce our reliance on imports and cut down Scotland’s carbon footprint.”
