The Scottish health minister is urging convenience stores across Scotland to sign up to a scheme aimed at making it easier for customers to improve their diets.

Andy Kerr gave his backing to the Scottish Grocers' Federation Healthy Living Programme which encourages local shops to promote fruit, vegetables and other healthier choices.

Stores taking part in the programme, formerly known as the Neighbourhood Shops Initiative, display the Healthy Living apple brand to highlight healthier choices and display fresh fruit and vegetables more prominently.
