Sainsbury’s has launched an investigation into one of its suppliers after salmonella was found in a packet of the retailer’s own label lemon thyme.
Last week, The Food Standards Agency published a notice warning that the retailer was recalling all packs with expiry dates up to 21 January.
Sainsbury's customers who have bought the product have been offered a full refund and, in a statement, the retailer said that routine testing had found 'an isolated, low incidence level of salmonella,' stating that food security remains a 'top priority.'
