Sales success prompts restructure

A strong sales performance has prompted a fresh produce supplier to announce a series of new appointments.

J.O. Sims, a leading supplier of fresh fruit and fruit ingredients, made the announcement following an increase in sales of almost 30 per cent in the last twelve months.

Lee Doleman, former general manager of the ingredients division, has become the group’s commercial director and will lead the sales and marketing functions.

Douglas Mackay, a relatively new arrival at J.O. Sims, having joined the company only 18 months ago from Premier Foods, will take over as ingredients general manager.

The company has also appointed a new finance director, with Andrew Bell joining from the Cargill group, where he was formerly UK accounting manager. A further promotion sees Darren Matschull appointed as procurement director.

Christopher Sims, md of J.O. Sims said: “This is an exciting time for J.O. Sims, as the company moves from strength to strength in both our fresh fruit and ingredients markets. In making these appointments, we have created a dynamic new management team, where each member will play a distinct role in the decision making process, steering the business towards future growth.”
